On October 21, 2026, Bangkok Pattaya Hospital and Jomtien Hospital recognized the importance of health care and quality of life for women, in collaboration with Sabina Public Company Limited, organized a volunteer activity “Sewing Breast Prostheses” under the Pinktober: Fighting Breast Cancer project to be delivered to Pattaya Patummakuh Hospital. The breast prostheses were handed over by Dr. Chanisa Innachit, Assistant Director of the hospital and medical resource management consultant, along with the management team, nurses, and the breast center, to Dr. Wichai Thanasophon, Director of Pattaya Patummakuh Hospital, who graciously accepted them to convey care and restore confidence to breast cancer patients who have undergone surgery for further use.
This event garnered interest from medical professionals, healthcare personnel, the general public, and volunteers in the Pattaya area and nearby, who warmly participated in sewing breast prostheses (Sewing Cup Sewing Heart). All completed breast prostheses will be delivered to Pattaya Patummakuh Hospital for distribution to breast cancer patients in need or those who require them.
In addition to the sewing of breast prostheses, throughout October, the Pinktober campaign at Bangkok Pattaya Hospital and Jomtien Hospital also organized seminars to provide knowledge on mental health care when facing serious illnesses, featuring psychologists and music therapists. They also launched a special package for breast cancer screening (Digital Mammogram & Ultrasound) at a discounted price. A portion of the proceeds from the package sales will be contributed to provide breast cancer screening opportunities for women at the Tharalife Center for Women in Pattaya, aiming to create equitable access to healthcare in the community.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among Thai women and worldwide. However, if detected early through screening, the chances of complete recovery are significantly higher. Therefore, Bangkok Pattaya Hospital and Jomtien Hospital invite all women to regularly perform self-breast examinations and to undergo annual screenings by specialized doctors.
